Our story.

Event Wander was born from frustration. As local event enthusiasts and supporters of local business, finding what was happening in our area became increasingly annoying and daunting.

Technology made it worse! Try searching the events page of your go-to social media and you'll get a mish-mash of results. Even when you narrow it down to specific dates, you'll get results far outside and irrelevant to your search that are prioritized by sponsored ads.

Even local events pages are more-often-than-not, owned by media companies. They're prioritized by paid ad ranking and a constant barrage of annoying pop-ups that are quite literally in your face.

Have you ever been scrolling your screen, trying to read something, only to have the screen jump all over from ads loading? Or been in the middle of reading a post only to be interrupted by a pop-up asking you to sign up for this or buy that? Not only have you lost your place, it's super irritating and you still can't find the answers you searched for in the first place!

Or how many times have you found out about an event after-the-fact? You would have gone if you only knew about it!

We've even tried asking AI. "Where are some places with live music near me this weekend?" or "Where is there a food truck with tacos near me?" and were given the same tired lists, pulled from a hundred places on the internet, and had to sift through website after website to find what we want.

Whether you want to find where your favorite food truck will be this weekend, where your favorite local band is playing next, when the next 5K race is, what craft fairs are happening on Saturday, what's going on at your local museum, or you're visiting the area and want to find something to do tonight...

Our Solution.

So we made it easy. We created Event Wander to be free of all the typical ad-driven distractions, giving you straightforward results relevant to your search. And it's free to search to your heart's delight!

Giving local businesses and artists a place to showcase is important. We are supported by a small subscription fee to hosts to list their local events. Because there are no keyword bidding wars, no sponsored posts, and no ranking or prioritizing one event over another, all hosts are treated equally and all search results are given equally.

We believe the quality of a given event gets people in the door, not an ad budget.

Being a user-friendly event directory is our goal. We like to think of ourselves as everyone's

do-rectory.
